2713 N. Pulaski Rd. Chicago, Illinois: The National Insider, 1965. 1st Edition . UNBOUND. Very Good/No Jacket. Complete original 1965 newspaper edition of the first part of the condensed tabloid publication of Kerry Thornley's book entitled OSWALD.Three years prior to the JFK assassination, Thornley had begun writing a novel about a disillusioned Marine. After meeting Oswald during his military service and later on hearing of his defection to Russia, Thornley shifted the subject matter entirely to Oswald. The Warren Commission investigating the JFK assassination subpoenaed his book manuscript entitled THE IDLE WARRIORS and delayed publication until 1991.The book OSWALD is based on his Warren Commission testimony which supported the lone assassin theory. Thornley himself became a person of interest in the District Attorney Jim Garrison investigation and was charged with perjury related to his denial of contact with Oswald while in New Orleans prior to the assassination. Thornley would later recant the lone assassin theory, even suggesting that he and Oswald may have been subjects of military LSD experimentation while serving in the Marines. In all, Thornley remains as much the enigma as Oswald himself.

Description:
New Classics House, 1965 SIGNED. Lee Harvey Oswald's Marine buddy who wrote another book titled The Idle Warriors about Oswald pre-assassination. Is that weird? This book Oswald was written in 1965 after JFKs assassination. Jim Garrison thought Kerry Thornley was one of Oswald's doubles in New Orleans in the summer of 1963. Possibly the bearded one seen by Perry Russo at David Ferries house with Clay Shaw? Thornley lived in Florida and balked on interviewing with Garrison in 1967. I think this book saved his life. It's a lone assassin theory book. Thornley later lived in Atlanta's bohemian enclave of Little 5 Points. He washed dishes and worked at a bookstore. He loved just hanging out. I think I turned him down on buying his The Idle Warriors book on the street. I do remember him. He loved seeing Grateful Dead shows and was a true character. Illustrated with photos. Signed on FFEP. Includes his Warren Commission testimony though he does state its edited for clarity.126 pp with ads.… Read More
