Porter & Coates, Philadelphia, 1894, H.C. ex. lib., Good-. Author (real name, Charles Austin Fosdick) a popular writer of Y.A. stories, in the decades after Civil War. Oscar confronts treachery even before he leaves England for Africa & winds up in more trouble before & while he seeks big game. The olive cloth over boards covers with black lettering & illustration on fr, & spine, are faded, discolored; have considerable edge wear, heaviest along spine back edge with a 2" split with back at base & heavy wear at spine ends. Inside, ffep & facing cover paste down are a little nicked; writing on inside ffep & sfep; back end page is missing leaving stains on next page & very light tanning. Written pages are tight & unmarked: Good-.
