Clear tape over white-out on the endpapers and dust jacket flaps, the dust jacket is price-clipped, has a taped 2-inch closed tear and some tape stains. "A new major dictionary from Eric Partridge is an important event. This work is an etymological dictionary of the 12,000 commonest words in modern English.
