Edinburgh: W.H. Lizars, 1851. 2 vols. bound as 3, 4to, pp. [iii]-xlii, [ii], 532; [iii]-xx, [iv], 390, [2]; [iii]-xxii, [iv], 391-846, [2] + 6 folding maps. Half-titles discarded. Contemporary biscuit calf, boards bordered with blind rules within double gilt rules, spines divided by raised bands, green morocco labels, other compartments tooled elaborately in gilt, marbled edges and endpapers. Flyleaves spotted, else just a touch of spotting. Bindings a little rubbed and scratched. Armorial bookplates of George Baird of Stichill to pastedowns. A handsome copy of this Bannatyne Club edition, which belonged to noted amateur jockey George Alexander Baird (1861-1893).

About McNaughtan's Bookshop
Established in 1957, McNaughtan's Bookshop is the oldest surviving secondhand and antiquarian bookshop in Scotland. Located in the basement of a listed 1820s tenement building at the top of Edinburgh's Leith Walk, we are the only open shop in Edinburgh holding membership of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association. We stock rare, antiquarian, and collectable books on all subjects, along with a substantial range of secondhand books for browsing. Our gallery space currently hosts Typewronger Books, offering new books and secondhand typewriters.
