This is the actual illustration that the cut was made from used in the book 'Seeing France with Uncle John' and the magazine serial in 1906 Century Magazine. On page 275 of the book is this original illustration. Condition: Very Good, boarder has stain, yellowing and corner rubbing. Sticker 7845 in corner. Backside has lettering and numbers signifying placement. May Wilson Preston (1873-1949) At the height of her career, May Wilson Preston was one of the highest paid illustrators in America. Her illustrations were seen weekly in the SATURDAY EVENING POST, etc and her name was well known. She and her husband, James Preston, lived in New York City and entertained the literary and artistic celebrities of the day.
