About This Item
1840. Held in nice gilded wooden frame, with glass front. Framed by The Quality Framing Company Sebastian D’Orsai. Engraved Size: 53cm x 39.5 cm Frame Size 66cm x 52cm In very good condition. Frame has a few small scuffs on edges. The passage of the Great St. Bernard by the French army, May 20, 1800, commissioned in 1800 and exhibited at the Salon of 1806 (Versailles) . Thévenin was inspired by drawings from nature showing the efforts of the Army Reserve to cross the Alps. Bonaparte, surrounded by Duroc and Bessières, directs the operations.
