About This Item
Lancaster and York, PA: American Caramel Company, 1920. Vintage caramel card of actress Marie Prevost, circa 1920s. The American Caramel Company manufactured two sets of photolithographic trading cards of actors and actresses in the 1920s, one set of 80 and one of 120. The card here issued from the set of 120, with Prevost's card identified in the text on the recto as number 42.
Canadian-born Prevost began her film career as a Mack Sennett "Bathing Beauty" in 1917, but found her breakthrough role in "Yankee Doodle in Berlin" (1918). The actress was best known for her light comedies with Universal and Warner Brothers, most notably with director Ernst Lubitch, including "The Marriage Circle" (1924), "Three Women" (1924) and "Kiss Me Again" (1925).
2 x 3.25 inches. Very Good.
