London: Williams and Norgate Ltd., 1939. An important text in the Lawrence canon, including his diary from 1911 when surveying Crusader Castles in Syria (and spying for HM) and the suppressed first chapter of "Seven Pillars of Wisdom." This is a Near Fine copy of the Second Printing (stated "Reprint May 1939) from the same month as the First (stated "First published May 1939"). Brown cloth binding with titling in gilt on the spine. Clean text; 291 pages; black topstain. Edited by his brother, A.W. Lawrence "With Photographs by the Author." Indeed, there are 111 plates by Lawrence. Pages 165 to 291 are all photographs, printed on high-quality gloss paper. There is a previous-owner bookplate on the front paste-down and some faint spots to the fore-edge; else a Fine copy. The dustwrapper is unclipped; it has wear at the corners and chips at the head and foot of the spine, else close to Fine. In an archival plastic protector. Second Impression. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
