Binding remains square and sound, although is in the very early stages of a slight loosening. Unmarked interior, with only a few small spots of light soiling. Pages are lightly toned. Some fairly heavy wear to the covers, including rubbing to the front board. Title to spine has been completely worn away and rewritten in ink. Edited by Charles H. J. Douglas. First published in 1849 under the title, The California and Oregon Trail. 362 pp. History.
