Chicago: The John C. Winston Company. Very Good. ©1931. Hardcover. 388 p. 22 cm. Sound and square binding in cloth-covered boards, with color pastedown illustration. Some wear to the corner tips and spine ends. A little spotting and a few streaks to both boards near the fore-edges. Text block edges slightly dusty and have a few minor marks. Inside pages are clean and unmarked, with slight toning. No dust jacket. A reprint of the classic work of exploration in the western U.S. and his encounters with indigenous people. Illustrated with four colour plates including the frontispiece. .
Synopsis
On April 28, 1846, Francis Parkman left Saint Louis on his first expedition west. The Oregon Trail documents his adventures in the wilderness, sheds light on America's westward expansion, and celebrates the American spirit.
