New York: Oxford University Press, 1889. Hardcover. Good +/no jacket, as issued. Shelf wear to tips, corners and edges of both books, ring marks to front cover of the prayer book which also has previous owner's penciled inscriptions to first blank page ( the Powell and Mosher families). A pair in brown and gilt leather, five raised ribs, all edges gilt, silk marker ribbon.12mo, 7x5 inches. Printed at the University Press and sold by Thomas Nelson and Sons, New York. Appended to the prayer book are the "Alterations and Additions in the Book of Common Prayer finally adopted by The General Convention In the Years of Our Lord 1886 and 1889. The Hymnal was copyrighted by the Episcopal Church in 1871 and was adopted in 1874 at the General Convention. This copy is a printing of 1882. First printing, no others noted of this edition of the Prayer book. The Hymnal is a later printing of the 1874 Revised Edition.
