Illustrated throughout with B/W Photos. First published in 1911 commemorating the 50th anniversary of the great War, the volumes became very scarce. This reprint edition shows the multitude of photos taken during the war and this volume shows the battles of Bull Run, Shiloh, New Orleans and others. The men on both sides believed the fight was a small price to pay for the ideals they cherished. They fought with zeal and courage. This is first book in the series. 369 pp.
