London: Chapman and Hall, 1913. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 8" by 5". Charles Robinson. An uncommon first edition of E. Temple Thurston's 'The Open Window', illustrated by Charles Robinson. Thurston was and Anglo-Irish poet, playwright and author, perhaps known best for his novel 'The City of Beautiful Nonsense', which was adapted into film twice. Contains illustrative plates and vignettes throughout. In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally sound, there is wear to the extremities , boards and backstrip, as well as sunning to backstrip. Internally, the pages firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
