About This Item
London: Secker & Warburg, 1965. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. First edition, first impression. Hardback in dustwrapper. 20.5 × 13.5cm, 190pp. The author's first novel. The theme of which is the conflict between man's compelling need for self-assertion and the assured happiness of married life - a conflict brought to the surface by the outbreak in London of a deadly pestilence which reduces the city to a panic-stricken place of dying and the dead. Condition: The book is in very good condition, the dustwrapper has some tanning to the spine and one small closed tear to the top edge but is otherwise very good.
