Blue cloth, titles stamped in gilt on the spine, red topstain: fore-edge with a couple light, small stains. In the three color illustrated dust jacket with price intact on the front flap: spine head minimally rubbed, moderate age toning, colors remain brilliant. Withal, an attractive, presentable copy of the. First printing of the first English edition of Rabassa's translation for Harper & Row. Marquez's fantastic, intricate melange of truth and mirages can now be viewed as the harbinger for all who followed.

Dust jacket is now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.

Synopsis

One Hundred Years of Solitude is a novel authored by Colombian Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez. It was first published in Spanish in 1967. The book was an instant success worldwide and was translated into over 27 languages. Lauded critically, it is the major work of the Latin American "boom" in literature. It was also an immense commercial success, becoming the best-selling book in Spanish in modern history, after Don Quixote.
