About This Item
Toronto: Longmans Green and Company 1959, 2nd printing. (Hardcover) 274pp. Very good plus in very good plus dust jacket. Black cloth with white lettering and cover design. Photographs, maps, illustrations, index. The dust jacket is lightly edgeworn with small toned spots at the bottom of the front inner flap and the back panel near the spine. "The keynote of this lively, shrewd account of an unusual journey across China lies in the author's remark that, to his mind, 'one should never miss a chance to see something new'. The fact that he was to be in Moscow in the summer of 1958 for the final meeting of the Special Committee which had organized the International Geophysical Year seemed to Dr. Wilson an obvious chance to travel to Peking by the Trans-Siberian Railway and to visit the interior of China". Time Period 1958. Locale: China; Peking. (History--China, History--China, Travel and Adventure).
