'Meteorology' is one of Aristotle's most famous and important treatises. While the majority of his works stem from philosophy, this one is strictly from a scientific viewpoint – a view in which Aristotle sought to collect and describe all of the major weather patterns and properties including water evaporation, earthquakes, tornadoes, lightning and thunder, and wind and fire. This work is thought to be one of the earliest on hydrology as well as an early work on the earth being a sphere!

In the 5th-century, Byzantine astrologer Olympiodorus the Younger wrote a commentary on Aristotle's 'Meteorology'. In his commentary and notes, he mentions a comet that he observed in the year 565. This commentary is notable because it is the only ancient commentary on meteorology that has survived in its entirety. It is curious though, that Olympiodorus's commentary is often paired with that of Johannes Philoponus, a 5th-century Christian philosopher and Aristotle commentator.

A rare 16th-century printing of works of John Chrysostom. Chrysostom was one of the most important Early Christian Church authors and preachers and is most remembered for his sermons and homilies. He preached on many different subjects, but his most frequented topic was helping the needy. Chrysostom calls for followers of Jesus to set aside their material desires to help the poor, often in a way that shamed the rich and guilted them in to giving.
