About This Item
New York: Doubleday, Doran Co., 1940. First Edition. Limited Edition Both volumes of this two volume set are in fine condition in brown buckram covered boards with beveled edge boards, gilt text stamping on the spines and gilt edges to the top edges of the text blocks. Neither volume has its original cellophane wrapper (which are seldom seen), but both books are contained within a very near fine slipcase with an undamaged paper label. This set is signed by Roberts and numbered 120 out of only 1,050 copies printed and sold. This title was a best selling novel for Roberts. It provides an insightful look at the American Revolution from a Loyalist's point-of-view. After reading it one is astounded that the war was even won by the American forces.
