First edition; one of 350 copies signed by the artist, with original ink & wash drawing of a dog below the limitation details; 4to (290 x 225 mm.); 12 tipped-in colour plates with captioned tissue guards, vignette title and illustrations, all by Cecil Aldin, internally excellent; publisher's vellum-backed white boards lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut, slightly marked with some browning to top-edge, rubbed at one corner, but overall very good.
A sharp clean copy of this delightful study on Old Manor Houses of Britain, superbly illustrated by Cecil Aldin, and with a classic Aldin ink-doodle of a terrier on the limitation page.
