A story of a man who finds himself at a loss after college and takes a job with a company manufacturing pork rind. His job? To locate big farms / ranches for the company to buy and turning two hog farms. He then arrives in a Texas town called Wollybucket in the Texas Panhandle which had seen its fair share of hardluck  tornadoes, dust storms and droughts  and targets a ranch to turn into a hog farm, but, " ... learns the hard way how vigourously the old owners will hold onto the land, even though their children want no part of it."  from rear panel blurb. A little creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the book edges and panels stop tanning of the text block edges and pages. The last page has a vertical creases.
