Pictorial endpapers; 12 color plates and numerous b&w illustrations. Spine edges, lower corners, and left side of label all lightly rubbed, else a bright, clean copy in original color pictorial dust jacket (light edge wear with ½" chip at bottom of spine, spine lightly sunned).
First edition, first state, binding A (with publisher's spine imprint in "boldface,") first state dust jacket (listing to this title on rear flap). From the collection of Fred M. Meyer, longtime Secretary of the International Wizard of Oz Club. When Ojo the Munchkin boy is taken captive — first by gypsies and then by a roving robber band — he makes an adventurous escape in the company of two new friends: Snufferbux, the singing and dancing bear, and Realbad, the bandit chieftain.
