Toronto, Canada: Canadian Manufacturers' Association. Printed By R. G. McLean,. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1905. First Edition. Soft Leather. In the original publisher's light brown suede, soft leather covers with 'yapp' edges. No dustjacket as issued. In the centre of the front cover is a gilt edged, coloured 'badge', with a maple leaf centre topped by a crown, of the Canadian Manufacturers' Association Tour 1905. Inside the covers are dark brown silk endpapers. The page fore-edges are a little 'dusty'. A crease along the first (blank) page, o/w No Inscriptions or Marks. 120 pp. A tissue guarded b/w portrait frontispiece of William Kerr George Esq. , President of the Canadian Manufacturers Association 1904-5. The Programme of the Tour includes: - 'The Ocean Voyage on the Allan Liner 'Victorian' '; The Ten Days in London - including Windsor Castle and the Royal Family', Ascot , Woolwich, Battle Abbey, (! ) etc , etc; 'The Provincial Tour' - including Wallsall, Dudley, Lichfield, Birmingham, Sheffield Leeds, Bradford, Liverpool, Newcastle -on-Tyne, Edinburgh - then 'Back to London' and a 'Visit to Paris' (! ). Plus Speeches, Addresses and Editorial. List of Passengers on the 'Victorian' - and a list of others who joined the party in London. This was a Very Large Party of some 278 persons! Some lovely period photos - a lot of 'personages' but also of the Liner - and its interior - that the CMA sailed on, The 'Street Cars' (Trams) of Sheffield, a London and North-Western Train, The Western Dock, 'Normanhurst - A 'Typical' Country Residence (! Hmm ! ) - The home of Lord Brassey, Dover, etc, etc. A fascinating glimpse back in time from a Canadian viewpoint. Scarce - See Images. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
