Paris: Pourrat Freres, 1837. Hardcover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Quarto. 752 pages, indexed. A large format book measuring just over 10 inches tall by 7 1/4 inches wide. Hardcover bound in burgundy leather-back cloth. The leather spine has raised bands with elaborate gilt stamping in the compartments. Scuffing and small tear at foot. Boards are scuffed. Rear board has dark mark at lower right corner. Marbled endpapers. Some pages are toned, text in general is foxed. Dog-eared pages. Text is in French. There is a gilt "2" on the spine, so we assume this is Volume 2, and the printed note on the last page of the text indicates that this is the second volume of a set.
