London: R. Balfe, 1765. ~Recently rebound in full dark brown calf, single gilt fillets framing boards. Raised bands, gilt decor, and black gilt label to spine. Spine faded. 12mo (11 x 17.8cm). All edges red. Hinges sound. Replacement endpapers and blank endpages. Recent bookplate and pencil inscription with bibliographic information to inside front board. Half title. Undated and published anonymously: estimated date and attribution taken from ESTC. In two parts: part II has separate undated titlepage, 'The Judgment of the Bishops of France, Concerning the Doctrine, the Government, the Conduct and Usefulness, of the French Jesuits', pagination and register. Text complete despite erratic pagination. Scarce. Gillow p. 159. ESTC T102059. ~Robust packaging. Overseas orders trackable on request.. 1st edn. Hardback.
