Blackie, London and Glsagow, 1938, first edition; 8vo, pp xi, [v], 528; four plates and with several illustrations or figures in the text; duck egg blue cloth, spine gilt, green dustwrapper; dustwrapper somewhat dulled and ad with some worn edges but the volume itself in very good, clean condition. ... ... ... ... An interesting work of education which considers a wide range of human beliefs and delusions. Early chapters dealing with astrology, phrenology, palmistry, magic and witchcraft are followed by material on scientific questions such as perpetual motion, the fourth dimension, and the finiteness (or otherwise) of space. It finishes with chapters on science, philosophy and religion and although clearly dated, particularly in those sections on science, still offer much of interest. The book's title was later changed to "Search After Truth". ... ... ... ... NOTE that as the books weighs over 1kg here may be required for non-UK orders a carriage supplement, depending on location and service required.
