About This Item

[Fort Smith, Arkansas: S.n.], 1860. . 16mo, printed on p. [1] only. No other copy located. Most probably printed by the local newspaper, or possibly by a field press at the Garrison. Kate Little was the daughter of Capt. Lewis Henry Little, a graduate of West Point, born in Baltimore and his wife, Martha Rathbone Little. Captain Little graduated in 1939 and the was appointed to the U.S> Fifth infantry. In May 1861 he resigned his commission to join the Confederate Army rising to the rank of Brigadier General. He was killed at the battle of Iuka, Mississippi in September 1862. His father, Peter Litte served as a Representative in Congress for sixteen years from Maryland.
