About This Item
London: Hutchinson & Co., 1958. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. McLaren, William. 263 pages. The jacket, now protected is damaged at the head of the spine, chipped at the edges , carries a short closed tear at the head and stained at the front, though this could be a printer's fault; the fore-edge is lightly foxed, and there is neat Angus and Robertson stamp on the verso of the front end paper. A clean, unmarked and solid copy, though obviously second hand. "this is perhaps only incidentally a story of the gardens. It is the story too of an independent aunt and of the independent Highlanders of the West Coast and the sharp beauty of the land...." (Front Flap)
