About This Item
Boston: Oak Hall, 32 to 44 North Street, no date (1876 per OCLC). Twenty-fifth edition. 24mo (5.75" X 5"), 29 & [3] pages, with illustrations from woodcuts throughout. Publisher's pictorial paper wraps, sewn.
Moderately soiled & toned, short split at spine, slight edge wear, otherwise very good.
A clever promotional pamphlet told in verse & dedicated to the "juvenile patrons" of the Oak Hall Clothing House. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was apparently incensed at the firm's use of advertising poems patterned on his style.
