About This Item
Simon and Schuster, New York, 1943. First Edition. Hardcover (Printed Boards). Fine Condition/Near Fine. Book This is #14 of the first 16 Little Golden Books, released in April 1943, with a blue paper spine, dust jacket and 42 pages (later printings were reduced to 28 pages). It is in excellent condition, having been carefully stored and protected by a collector. Size: Small Octavo (7 1/2-8"). 42 pages. Item Type: Book. The inside of the front cover is clean without any PON. The only marking is a previous bookseller's stock number and price in pencil at the top outside corner of the half-title page. Fine hardcover with illustrated paper over boards. There is the slightest of wear the bottom edge and it appears the book may have taken a bump at the head of the spine with two small closed tears at the head of the spine and top of the rear cover. The unclipped (25 cents) dust jacket is Near Fine, showing slight wear at the head and foot of the front fold, a small chip at the head of the spine and a small hole at the foot of the rear fold of the spine. It has been protected in a clear sleeve for some time, maintaining its nearly pristine condition. All edges are in excellent condition, colored in light blue. Quantity Available: 1. Category: Children; United States; 1940s; Myths, Legends & Folklore. Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request. Inventory No: 1377. .
