About This Item

Novell NetWare Simplified

by Dirk Larisch

a Data Becker Book published by Abacus 1991, ISBN#: 1557551057, Soft bound, Excellent+ condition (former library book with a reinforced, laminated protective cover with a call-number label on the base of the spine, black marker lines along some top and bottom page edges). In this understandable book you will learn to use NetWare quicker with practical applications and easy-to-follow examples. This book is very hard to find - only one other copy is currently available on the Internet.

This book is for any NetWare user who needs help with specific problems but doesn't want to wade through reams of technical manuals. You will find information on how to create a new user ID; grant access privileges; create individual custom menus and how to get information on the file system. Additional information includes installation; adding new network printers; different ways of using passwords and backing up data: when and how. You will also learn what special considerations exist when installing application programs on your network and much more. The topics covered will interest all audiences from the network user to the system manager (Supervisor). A basic knowledge of Novell NetWare implementation is helpful to get the most out of this guide. Each topic is accompanied by a thorough discussion so you can function with relatively little starting knowledge.

Some of the topics include: Installing extra printers and PC workstations; Understanding file and directory rights; Sending messages through your system; Developing a user-friendly menu system and more; etc. This book covers NetWare versions 2.0a, 2.10, 2.11, 2,12, 2.15, 2.2, 3.0, 3.1, and 3.11. The guide answers many questions about file servers and workstations using the most popular LAN systems. This book is a needed first step to understanding and using NetWare more effectively.

The book is approximately 7 3/8 X 9 1/4 inches in size and contains 443 pages. The cover price is $24.95. For comparison, another copy of the book is currently offered on the Internet at for $9.75. For more info about this other book, Visit:Book Web Site
