Mt. Vernon, N.Y.: James E. Hicks, 1938. 287 pp, 9 1/4" H, red cloth with black lettering on front board, black lettering/banding on spine. Profusely illustrated with b&w drawings. Errata slip tipped in facing title page. Inscribed on front free endpaper: "To / Oscar T Barck, Esq / in appreciation of your / help / James S Hicks / Feb 4th, 1939". Mr. Barck is also mentioned in the book's Forward. Covers: aiming devices, bayonets, caissons, grenades, guns, helmets, limbers, lock plates, markings, pistols, revolvers, rifles, machine guns, ammunition, tanks, artillery sights, etc., etc. Light browning to the endpapers, very light browning in the nargins of the pages, light browning to the edges of the text block, heaving fading to the spine colour (lettering still very legible) light fading to the edges of the boards, light wrinkling at the top/bottom of the spine, light edge wear - moderate at one corner, slight bumping at corners of boards, cigarette odour.. Inscribed By Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good-/No Jacket. Illus. by Andrew Jandot..
