About This Item

London : Chatto & Winduss, 1876 . First edition. Brochure/Pamphlet. Very Good Indeed. 8.5" by 5.5". none . A smart pamphlet written by a poet, writer and critic on the war between Russia and Turkey. This is a very well presented pamphlet detailing Algernon Charles Swinburne's opinions as an English Republican on the Muscovite Crusade. Swinburne had strong political views and writes with a certain hostility about Thomas Carlyle's views on the war between Turkey and Russia.  Swinburne was an English poet, playwright, novelist and critic, writing critical essays on William Blake, George Chapman and Shakespeare. In the original paper wrappers. Externally, smart. There is some fading to the wraps and a few light marks. Internally, firmly bound with bright, clean pages. Very Good Indeed
