About This Item
Two volumes - one red and one green - in a golden box.
The box has bumps to a couple of its corners and some slight edge-wear, but is still in very good condition, and the books are in mint condition and appear to be un-read.
Both books are first impressions with the full number line, and the edition is the Harvill one rather than the Ted Smart/Harvill book club edition.
Synopsis
Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami explores loss and sexuality as told from a first-person perspective in the late 1960s. During this time Japanese students were protesting against the established order, which serves as a basis for the events in the novel. The original Japanese title, Noruwei no Mori is the standard Japanese translation of a Beatles song “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)”, which is often referenced in the story and a favorite song of the character Naoko. Murikamis writing has received numerous awards with notable works being The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle , Kafka on the Shore , and 1Q84 . A film adaptation of Norwegian Wood was released in 2010. Translated from the Japanese by Jay Rubin.
