New York: Harcourt Brace & Company, 1935. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. A slim prepublication copy, possibly a prosepctus, with "TO BE PUBLISHED" and "PRICE" stamped on the front endpaper. Includes the Preface, Contents, and a five-page excerpt of Chapter 9, "Dark." Fine in a Very Good jacket, unclipped ($2.50), rubbed at the edges, a chip at the top edge of the back panel. Blue buckram on the boards with gilt lettering and designs. Square and firmly bound. A unique and seemingly scarce copy of Anne Morrow Lindbergh's first book.
Synopsis
Born in Englewood, N.J. in 1906, Anne Morrow married Charles Lindbergh in 1929, two years after his transatlantic flight. She is the author of many books, including Gift from the Sea and Listen! The Wind, and five volumes of diaries and letters, among them Bring Me a Unicorn and Hour of Gold, Hour of Lead. Mrs. Lindbergh is the recipient of countless honors and awards, including the Hubbard Medal of the National Geographic Society.
