Kaare Rodahl took part in the Air Force's 'Project Icicle', which established an observational campy on a floating island of ice at the North Pole. This book is his account of the journey and experiences of the trip, including studies on the animals and plants, weather, and how humans can survive them. Kaare Rodahl was from Norway, who was studying medicine in Oslo before taking a winter break in Greenland and beginning collecting information and data on glaciers and polar bears.
