The uncommon first edition. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. The thrilling story of Colonel Anthony Gethryn as he attempts to prove a man's innocence, just five days before he is due to be executed. Part of the 'Anthony Gethryn' series of works. Philip Macdonald was a British writer who published numerous thrillers and mystery screenplays. He is best known for writing television scripts for, 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents', as well as the novelisation of the science fiction film, 'Forbidden Planet'. The half title page is present. With two pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of the novel. In the publisher's original, full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the edges. Small mark to the front board. The odd spot to the front paste-down. Scattered spots and offsetting to the free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age-toned but the text is still bright and clear. Spotting towards the front and rear with a few scattered spots throughout. Spotting to the fore-edge. Very Good Indeed
