About This Item

London: William Heinemann. Hardback. 285pp. First edition. Novel set in Regency England. Dust wrapper illustrated by A. E. Barbosa. Regency romance set in near Harrogate, Yorkshire. Ancilla Trent has the unenviable task of being paid companion to the beautiful but spoilt Tiffany Wield. Sir Waldo wants to turn his recent inheritance of a Yorkshire mansion to good account as a home for orphans. Both Waldo and Ancilla find themselves managing the affairs of the young people of the neighbourhood. But what of their own feelings? Red boards with gilt titles to spine are clean and sound. Dust jacket is clean and bright to illustrated front but rather rubbed to all edges with some loss to dust jacket corners and spine ends of dust jacket. White areas of the dust jacket are slightly dust marked. Not price clipped. Very good copy in good dust jacket . Hardback. First Edition. 1962.
