A fascinating work on nineteenth-century British glass and glass-making, including chapters on cut glass, coloured glass, engraved glass, fancy glass, press-moulded glass, and more. The first edition of this work.Written by Hugh Wakefield, former keeper of the Department of Circulation in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Including four full-page plates in colour, and ninety-six pages of black-and-white illustrations from photographs to the rear of the work. Collated and complete. Enclosed in the original dust wrapper. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lovely, with just minor shelf wear. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart, with just light edgewear and some offsetting to the interior of the wrap. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
