About This Item

Foulsham,, [1973]. 8vo., First Edition, with 38 plates on 12; blue cloth, gilt back, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper. A moving account of convoy SC7 [from Halifax, Nova Scotia to the UK] in October 1940. The convoy was badly mauled by the first use of 'wolf-pack' tactics, later to become commonplace in the North Atlantic. Well-illustrated with valuable photographs of ships and men not easily available elsewhere. Dustwrapper artwork by Admiralty War Artist Jim Morris. Enser, p.429; Law, 0270.
