Synopsis

I read this book in the 70's while I was taking my CSE Exams. I wanted to use this book for my exams because it had such an impact on me. I am now 51 years old and I still remember it vividly. The front cover depicted it well and was in its self a strong and moving image. I was mortified that I was not allowed to use this book as part of my course work.I still have this book today and I am hoping that my daughter who is a historian and teacher can used this book to illustrate the strength that overcame adversity. An excellent author who has had a strong impact on my literary life.
