London: William Heinemann, 1898 Previous owner's bookplate inside front board with note "believes this to be the first issue." Interior is clean, rough page edges are tanned. Hinge loosening but not cracked. Cover wear, particularly at the top of the spine, to inch missing. This is a very well cared for antique, collectible book. Boards are dark gray, gilt decoration, life ring on front board, "Heinemann" at bottom of spine with large H.
