Publishers' black cloth with silver titles to spine with pictorial endpapers of John Storey's View of Newcastle upon Tyne (1862), in unclipped pictorial dust-jacket. A clean bright copy with no annotation or inscriptions. Fine in like jacket. Well illustrated guide to the diverse standing heritage buildings of Newcastle and environs, covering the medieval period up to publication, with introductory sections about the social, cultural, religious and economic aspects of each featured historical period. Heavyweight so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery.
