Known for her philanthropic work, particularly in the area of education, she donated a significant amount of money to Syracuse University, her alma mater, and funded the construction of several buildings on the university's campus. Lysnar also had a keen interest in international relations and was involved in various organizations dedicated to promoting peace and understanding between nations.
