About This Item

New York, New York: McGraw-Hill, 1984. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine/Fine. Forss, George. Stunning black-and-white photos of New York City as seen from the street through the lens of George Forss, who peddled his prints on the streets of midtown Manhattan, where Duncan, a Marine combat photographer who went on to work for Life magazine, first met him. Forss passed away in July 2021. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1984, in 136 pages, this oversized hardcover book has deep claret cloth-covered boards with gilt embossed lettering to front & spine. Condition is Near Fine: looks & feels Brand New save for a faint, semicircular dampstain on bottom edge of rear board. Does NOT impact interior or DJ in any way, just this one spot. Else, completely clean, binding straight & strong, pages white. The price-clipped DJ is also Fine, virtually flawless! Clean & bright, nicely protected in new mylar cover to stay that way.Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! All orders processed before 2 pm weekdays (PST) ship that same day; later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day! SORRY: book is too large for expedited domestic or any international shipping without pre-approval of extra (at least double) postage cost per USPS rates.
