Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1929. hardcover. Halliburton, Richard : New Worlds to Conquer. Indianapolis : Bobbs-Merrill Co, (1929). Early (but not first) printing. Size is octavo (8vo), 9.375"/24cm h. Bound in publisher's dark olive cloth, gilt lettering to spine and front board, with an ornamental debossed frame to latter. Endpapers show decorative map-like illus in pink and white, Mexico/Caribbean/Central America/northern end of South America to front; balance of South America to rear. [i-xiv] prelim material, 1-368, [369-370]; additionally, 32 coated sheets with photos (recto and verso) scattered throughout, not paginated. Prologue, 33 chaps. Condition notes: a sound and handsome copy, with an engaging author inscription to ffep ("My compliments to...a good boy from Dick Halliburton - another one/April 16/1930."). Binding loose but sound; boards worn with some spotting, but with generally excellent color retention. Spine ends rolled, corners bumped. Interior generally tanned but unmarked (except inscription); bookstore label (from J.W. Robinson in Los Angeles) remains affixed to rear pastedown, including price of $5. Quite a lovely period piece. We personally inspect every book we offer.

Furrowed Brow Books was established in 2020. The bookstore's owner, Paul Purman, grew up in an old farmhouse full of books. Paul had been providing online booksales since 2008 through several popular online sales venues. In 2021 Paul was accepted as a member of the Independent Online Booksellers' Association (IOBA), and graduated from the annual Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS-Minnesota).

Furrowed Brow Books' goal is to offer an eclectic selection, while providing specialty offerings in Eastern Orthodoxy and Byzantine civilization, theology, Christian mysticism, science fiction/fantasy (Inklings emphasis), and military history.
