Hardcover with a black and tan dust jacket. Heavy rubbing and wear to the jacket, which has edge tears and creases and a notable spot of abrasion on the front hinge. Foxing to the outside edges of the text block. Illustrated endpapers. Inscription written at the top of the front flyleaf. LIMITED EDITION, this is copy 118 of 500 copies. This copy is INSCRIBED by editor Hugh Lefler to fellow North Carolina historian, Lindley Butler, "To Lindley Butler, Compatriot in North Carolina history. With best regards, Hugh T. Lefler." Text is clean. Contains several illustrations with some in color.
