About This Item

London: Printed by R. Penny, 1736. [Annotated New Testament] FIRST THUS. Folio (40 x 28cm), pp.[2] 875. Final twenty pages misnumbered. Printed in two columns, with extensive notes below every small section of text. Original sewing and boards, with an extremely rough later nineteenth century covering of black leather-grain-effect cloth pasted over the whole book to keep it together. Black ink ownership to title page. Rough strips of paper reinforcing hinges between front endpapers, and between fly-leaf and title page. Some old glue burns to guttering of preliminaries. Rear hinge especially badly cracked; binding coming away from the spine. Final leaf glued down to rear board. Heavy wear to edges, and heavy wear to binding. Complete, but in poor condition.
