Author's presentation copy, inscribed by the author to the verso to the front free endpapers, 'Sinclair Frankland and Grace Hood, with kind regards and best wishes from the Bishop of Lincoln, Feb 15 1876'. These were the grandparents of Sinclair Hood, born 1917, who was an archaeologist and academic who led excavations at Knossos from 1957 to 1961.Bound by Rivingtons.'The New Testament' here in the original Greek, with extensive notes in English.Volume I contains the four gospels, and acts of the apostles.Volume II contains St. Paul's epistles, the general epistles, the book of revelation, and indexes.By Christopher Wordsworth, a bishop of the Anglican Church and man of letters. He was the nephew of William Wordsworth.A new edition. In a full morocco binding by Rivingtons. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing and marks to the boards and spines. Minor bumping to the spines and extremities. Author's inscription to the verso to the front free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound.
