[Louisville, KY & Chicago, IL]: Louisville & Nashville R.R., [Poole Bros.], [1926]. 12mo. 5.2 x 7.5 in. 31, [1] pp., printed throughout in lime-green & blue. Colour-illustrated title, numerous blue-tinted photos throughout, 1 colour map on verso of last leaf, 1 large folding panoramic pictorial map of the New Orleans, Gulf Coast shoreline. Colour-illustrated softcovers (minor shelfwear & rubbing at spine, very slight scuffing), still VG copy. First edition of this nicely illustrated travel brochure for the L&N Railroad celebrating the amenities and sites in New Orleans, featuring the French Quarter, Mardi Gras, city parks & golf courses. The Louisville & Nashville Railroad was originally established in 1850, and would eventually extend ist reach to St. Louis, Memphis, Atlanta, and New Orleans, and in 1902, J.P. Morgan delivered control of the L&N to the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, remaining a subsidiary until 1971.
