New Haven: Yale University Press, 1935. First Edition. Thick quarto (28.5cm.); publisher's green gilt-lettered cloth; mixed paginations; 8 original photographs mounted in text, additional graphs and facsimiles throughout, text printed from typescript. Some minor shelf wear to cloth extremities, one photograph separated but present, else Very Good or better. Original dissertation presented to the Faculty of the Graduate School of Yale University. Eldridge, who would go on to teach sociology at Dartmouth, served in the Army Air Force during World War II, where he gained recognition for helping divert German attention from the Normandy invasion. We find one copy of this dissertation (variant bibliographical details) at Southern Connecticut State U. as of November, 2018.
